  • If the Deco router's Power LED is showing red light, it means the router is not receiving any internet from the modem.

  • If the Deco child unit blinking red light, it means devices are not connected with each other.

  • Check if Deco router unit is connected with the modem via Ethernet cable. Examine cable for any damage, if found replace it with a new one.

  • Make sure that the cable is plugged in the modem's LAN port. Also, make sure Deco is connected to power outlet - receiving electricity.

  • Reboot the Deco router once by unplugging the device from power socket and plug it again to reconnect the device to power.

Reset

Resetting your Deco will delete all adjusted settings even the Network of the device. So try all the above given troubleshooting tips and if still deco blinking red light, reset your devices. There are two ways to reset the device.

Reset through the Deco app:

  1. Open the Deco app and access it through the TP-LINK ID (credentials).

  2. Select the Deco unit which you want to reset.

  3. Go into the Menu and choose RESET option.

  4. Tap YES to confirm the choice.

Reset through the RESET button:

  1. There is also a RESET button given at the back of the Deco devices.

  2. It can be a Pinhole button or simple press button.

  3. Just press and hold it for 8-10 seconds and release it.

  3. Tap Connect. The next page will open wherein enter the WiFi username and password.

  4. SAVE settings and wait for the app to ask Add More Decos.

Reconfigure Through Deco Web Interface:

  1. Connect PC with the Deco WiFi network using Ethernet cable or SSID credentials.

  2. Go into the browser and search the URL tplinkdeco.net or default IP address 192.168.1.1.

  3. Deco login page will appear, enter the default admin password, and access the interface.

  4. Select where you have placed the Deco device and type the new Deco network WiFi name and password.

  5. Click SAVE and create the new DECO network. Now, you can connect your internet device with Deco WiFi using new SSID credentials.

Connect Child Units Again

  1. Tap Add more Decos button in the app/interface to connect the child units with the router.

  2. Turn on Deco units within the reach of the router unit.

  3. Select the location where you have plugged the devices into wall socket in your house.

  4. Wait until each Deco device connects.
